Fayetteville Area
Fayetteville, North Carolina is a place like no other. Rooted in a rich history, family values, and American pride, Fayetteville offers a unique living experience with Southern charm. It's home of the U.S. Army's Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base, the backbone of the county's economy where over 50,000 military personnel are stationed. One of the most diverse cities in the US, Fayetteville was one of only 10 cities to receive the coveted "All-America City" award from the National Civic League in 2001. It was also hailed by TIME Magazine as "America's Most Pro-Military Town."
Fayetteville is one of the fastest-growing areas in the state, with a population of over 300,000 (including military bases), making it the sixth-largest city in North Carolina. The city is Cumberland County's largest municipality. Other towns include Falcon, Godwin, Hope Mills, Linden, Spring Lake, Stedman and Wade.
Fayetteville has numerous historic sites, several museums, three colleges, multiple entertainment venues, a historic downtown and award-winning golf courses. With beautiful parks, along with a moderate climate and mild winters, the area offers great outdoor excursions. Fayetteville is also well-situated for easy travel via the Fayetteville Regional Airport or Interstate 95.
