Caviness & Cates Volunteer Day

Volunteer Day

February 22, 2021
On February 19th, 2021, our project managers and other Caviness & Cates team members had the opportunity to aid Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity in the construction of a new home for a local family. Though it had been a rainy, dreary day, the weather did not prevent us from volunteering! In fact, we were the first group who got to use Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity’s new indoor warehouse.

Their H.O.M.E. Quarters facility is a space used to create the walls for the homes in advance while being protected from the elements. This helps them save time on their build schedule, reduces waste, and prevents the loss of volunteers on bad weather days. At the end of the day, Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity can be more efficient in their home-building process to provide for more families in the community!

Our team diligently worked throughout the day to construct windows, interior corners for the home, and so much more! Additionally, they aided in constructing several new workbenches for future volunteers to use in the new warehouse. We were proud to spend the day together as a team, working towards a common goal and serving our own local community and our neighbors. Thank you to Cape Fear Habitat for all that they do and for allowing us to participate.
